Day 3 – Hiking, good friends, wine, and sleep

Day 1 and Day 2 did not offer a lot of rest or sleep.

On day 1, if you recall I departed for my adventure at 2:00 A.M.

Day 2, started after a clandestine boon docking experience in the parking lot of Crackle Barrel in Couer De Lane, ID. No sleep, as I was too worried about someone stealing my generator and… it was hot as hell. The day progressed with a very bumpy drive on the roads to Montana.

Day 3, Sleep, Yay!! Followed by a wonderful hike and a great dinner with friends. Yes, we also enjoyed some good wine ๐Ÿ˜Š

Lisa and Dustin know all the best places to hike out the “crazy” out of their lives in Montana. The best part is they love to share their favorite places with me. I couldn’t be more honored!

Heck, I’m as crazy as they are๐Ÿ˜‚.

I love to call my stays with Lisa and Dustin the “Lisa and Dustin Boot Camp vacations.” Because they love me, they try to take me to as many hikes as they can during my stay, I love it!

Today, we ventured into the Jewel Basin where we proceeded to jump into the high country lake! The lake is fed from the run off from a glacier. It was cold, but felt marvelous!

Zeus loved it! He jumped right in and loved swimming the whole time. He was like a little kid…as he did’t want to leave. I had to pull him out of the water and he whined and barked until we were able to hike far enough away from the lake to settle back into a easy stride on the trail. As Dustin and Lisa stated…”Today is an easy 5 miler…ish hike.”

I feel like I’m the luckiest girl in the World here with Lisa and Dustin! Me and Zeus are living our best lives!! The mountains and wildflowers were breathtaking!!

Stay tuned for our big hike in the Many Glacier Lodge this weekend.
