Sometimes during your travels in life you run across items you end up having an instant weird attraction or connection to. For me it’s old barns and old wooden furniture 🤷♀️.
I could be out on a jog with my dog or browsing old store windows and then the item just catches my eye. I’m not sure why I have the connection. It’s a quandary to me, but I usually jump all in and take the journey. I’ve learned to trust my instincts.
Yes, if you read my earlier posts….old objects to me represent old souls. Sometimes old souls are neglected or forgotten. Tossed to the side or tossed away. I know, that is so sad…right?
Which leads me to my next “All by myself” project.
A few weeks ago my son purchased his first house. I couldn’t be more proud 😊. Buying your first house is such an accomplishment and a right of passage to becoming “An Adult”. A real adult. I guess it’s kinda like turning 21 and having your first legal alcoholic beverage.
So in passing conversations he mentioned he had a dinning room table but no chairs.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and I’m innocently browsing the Habitat for Humanity Store and my niece points out a couple of chairs. Now she knows I’m a plant-fanatic. Her suggestion is to turn the old chairs into plant tables. Which was a marvelous idea.
However, I remembered my son mentioning he needed dinning room chairs. Walla…..the chairs would make a comeback! New life and new energy to the old soul. Purchased for $1 a piece.
First part of the journey….sand the “yuck” off!
“It’s all about the base, the base”.
A little bit of paint.
I know it’s hard to believe! 😊I’m so happy with the new life.
