Day 2 in Yellowstone national park.
OK today I wanted the full experience. Today, I entered the park at 12:30. Waited in line to get through the entrance for about five minutes, which wasn’t bad.
About a mile into the park, I saw a bald eagle flying directly over the Gibson river. It was pretty awesome to see.
From the Madison entrance, I proceeded up to Norris then to Canyon Village, then to Tower and Roosevelt. That area hits the whole center and north side of the park. I drove over the pass which 8000- 9000 feet and then some. I also passed by Mammoth Hot Springs.
Along the way I finally got to see the buffalo I was hoping to see. I probably saw about 100 all together.
Two very up close. In fact, I had to actually put the vehicle in reverse and get out of the way for a large male buffalo that was walking down my side of the road.
In total I probably drove five hours in the park today. Exiting out the west entrance at 5:30 was a traffic jam. Ugh, people!
So I just pulled off by the river and let Zeus take a swim. He was fine! The bear just sniffed his butt. (just kidding😂)
So all the driving I’ve been doing is finally hitting me with fatigue. I think I will cut my trip and head to Boise so that I can spend three days with Sabrina and Hagen.
Another interesting fact is… Gasoline prices have been much cheaper in Montana. And averaging about $4.20 a gallon. With the cheapest being 418 which was yesterday. Today the exact same location had gas at $4.44 a gallon. A $.24 increase and one day. I’m not complaining because when I left home gasoline was around $4.83 a gallon.
