Day 4 – Hike into an unnamed lake for a swim😎

Finger lake, re-living first dates, and thunderstorms.

The evening before the hike to Many Glacier Lodge we took an easy hike of Dustin’s choice. He wanted to share a special place where he took Lisa on one of their first dates just a few years ago. dustin and Lisa are so cute! They are made for each other😊.

We stopped at Mudburgers first for a delicious lettuce wrapped chicken sammy.

Next stop was dropping Zeus off at a dog sitter in Columbia Falls. My first time using Rover.com. Its an app for dog owners to find people who love dogs and are willing to watch your dog.

A nervous dog momma here. I almost cried when we left Zeus. I watched Zeus pace at the fence as we drove off down the long gravel driveway. Lisa and Dustin consoled me but they looked like they were equally unsettled. (I know I’m such a goof!)

Dustin put the pedal to the metal and distracted me with funny stories of his first date with Lisa which set the stage for the hike.

The hike was an easy 4 miles to a forest lake. as soon as we arrived to the lake we jumped right in!

The lake temperature was mildly warm. We were enjoying ourselves swimming when the loud crack of thunder started. Well that put an immediate stop to the fun.

We jumped out of the water like school kids who got caught having a party while their parents were gone. 😂

We made it back to the car as the thunderstorm hit with a good heavy rain.

We were partially soaked but that didnt stop us from stopping at Backslope brewery for beer and healthy food bowls.

It’s always a fun adventure with the Smiths (Lol, no official blood relation. But i consider them my family.)

PS: dont tell anyone about Finger Lake! 😉
